Job Summary

The VCU Department of Psychiatry is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Coordinator to join its Child and Adolescent Division. As a key member of the research team, you will be responsible for managing research studies, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve research objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and oversee grants, coordinate research activities, and prepare research-related documents.
  • Oversee grant development, perform data collection and entry, and ensure compliance with HIPAA, GCP, and sponsor guidelines.
  • Participate in project planning, develop research protocols, and ensure adherence to scientific research principles and federal guidelines.
  • Conduct clinical research activities, maintain study documentation and records, and manage study data.
  • Coordinate new study activation requirements, screen and enroll participants, and maintain regulatory and compliance requirements.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of clinical research management, including regulatory, human subjects' protection, study conduct, and data management requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge of ethical research issues and research protocols and guidelines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and SPSS or comparable statistical programs.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a strong commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Work experience in an academic medical center or university.
  • Familiarity with EPIC and experience conducting research in pediatric or adolescent populations.
