Role Summary: The Recovery Support Specialist will assist clients in their daily activities and overall recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and support to clients, addressing their needs while establishing appropriate boundaries and educating them on facility protocols.
- Oversee client activities and ensure a safe environment.
- Respond to emergencies and manage crises effectively.
- Document client data and information accurately.
- Administer medications as required, following established protocols.
- Conduct drug screenings and document results per policy.
- Facilitate admission and discharge processes for clients.
- Maintain thorough and confidential client records.
- Perform routine administrative tasks, including filing and answering calls.
- Transport clients as necessary.
- Attend training for medication administration with RN approval.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and proficiency in computer applications.
- CPR certification is required.
- Attention to detail and a sense of humor are valued.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience working with diverse populations, particularly women from various economic and cultural backgrounds.
- Must pass a background study and meet relevant regulations.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Experience in mental health, trauma-informed care, and gender-responsive care is preferred.
- Experience working with families and/or pregnant and parenting women is a plus.
- Experience in a 24-hour behavioral health setting is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Capability to climb stairs.
