Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Youth Advocate to join our team at Save the Family Foundation of Arizona. As a key member of our staff, you will serve as the primary liaison and advocate between client parents and their child's school, aiding youth and families in setting and achieving educational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess youth developmental areas, interests, needs, and opportunities to participate in positive educational and recreational activities.
  • Provide community outreach opportunities for children/youth to access educational, recreational, and self-development activities.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver weekly classes on accessing community services, long-term planning for education, financial literacy, and other relevant topics.
  • Organize special events, field trips, and educational activities throughout the year, including the annual fall festival, holiday events, spring festival, and resource fair.
  • Document program activities, including youth assessments, for yearly reports and agency funding sources.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of community resources and activities for youth.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation, and maintain assigned youth files in a timely manner within Salesforce and other data systems.
  • Manage youth-related programs and activities, including completing case plan goals and working with the team to achieve monthly goals with families.
  • Conduct monthly home visits with families to provide ongoing support and resources to connect families to community resources, build long-term connections for their youth.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Possess a minimum of two years of experience in social work, case management, and/or youth advocacy.
  • Some experience in the non-profit sector is preferred.
  • Prior experience working with youth in either a paid or volunteer capacity is required.
  • Prior experience managing and/or working with volunteers is preferred.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Be able to proficiently speak, read, and write the English language.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Valid Arizona driver's license, reliable transportation, current auto insurance, and a clean driving record are required.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older for liability insurance requirements.
  • Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card or must qualify for a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Eligible to work in the United States of America.
