About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Software Engineer to join our Technology - Software and Services team at VIZIO. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects and contribute to the development of our cutting-edge products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement software related to TV and cloud services, leveraging your expertise in Python, NodeJS, JavaScript, React, TypeScript, and SQL.
  • Lead a team of software engineers, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA, release management, operations, and 3rd party partners, to deliver projects on time.
  • Research and implement new design patterns and standards to improve the existing workflow for the development team.
  • Review software designs and implementations, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience in full-stack development, with expertise in Python, NodeJS, JavaScript, React, TypeScript, and SQL.
  • Strong software development and design experience with Django, Django REST framework, and Flask.
  • Experience with AWS ecosystem, including tools, services, and resources that enable scalable, available, and distributed processing.
  • Experience with designing and building scalable Microservices.
  • Experience with messaging frameworks SQS, SNS, and serverless stack Lambda, API Gateway, Fargate, ECS, and EKS.
  • Experience with writing complex SQL queries and analysis of data correlations.
  • Experience working with No-SQL databases like Dynamo, Cassandra, Mongo, graph DBs like Neo4j, and in-memory DB like Redis, Elasticache.
  • Proficiency with software best practices, including CI/CD using Git/AWS Code Commit, writing unit tests, maintaining clear documentation, and UML diagramming with tools like Lucid.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical ideas effectively.
