Job Summary

Sovah Health - Martinsville is seeking a skilled Central Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for collecting, decontaminating, storing, and distributing reusable medical supplies and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, decontaminate, assemble, and sterilize medical instruments and equipment according to established guidelines and regulations.
  • Operate departmental equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to manufacturer instructions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to healthcare teams, prioritizing patient needs.
  • Process and document sterile supplies and equipment daily, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and manufacturer instructions.
  • Monitor and perform antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing, maintaining accurate records.
  • Enter patient charges and orders into the computer system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  • Conduct biological monitoring and interpret results, applying knowledge of sterilization processes.
  • Wash and decontaminate instruments and equipment from various hospital units.
  • Transport medical supplies and equipment to designated areas.
  • Remove unused equipment and supplies, cleaning and storing them properly.
  • Adhere to standard precautions for infection control, including hand-washing and body substance isolation.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Certification as a registered central service technician is required within one year of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in central sterile supply settings is desirable.
