Job Summary

Olympic College is seeking a dedicated and experienced instructor to teach Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher Preparation courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching between 1-3 courses per quarter in one or more of the following areas: Personal Student Development and Leadership Techniques, History and Philosophy of Career Technical Education, Diversity in the Classroom, Using Technology in the Classroom, and other courses as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach course(s), schedule of classes, course outlines, course syllabi, and any departmental guidelines.
  • Provide quality teaching including related preparation and grading.
  • Provide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes and to the division office as requested.
  • Maintain accurate records of students and complete forms as required.
  • May require evening instruction and possible weekends.
  • Provide punctual communication with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, including building and maintaining internal/external customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate an appreciation of diversity and the benefits of a commitment to cultural awareness and sensitivity in the workplace.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the Olympic College mission, vision, and values.
  • Demonstrate ethics, integrity, and sound professional judgment.
Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate Degree
  • Current Career and Technical Education Teacher Certification
  • Intermediate level computer competency
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a closely related field
  • Current or former Director of Career and Technical Education in the K-12 system
  • Online teaching experience or experience in web-enhanced instruction
  • Teaching experience at the community college or undergraduate level
What We Offer

Olympic College offers a competitive salary range of $5,000 - $6,000 per 5 credit class. Adjunct faculty members are eligible for benefits after working 50 percent of a full-time load for two consecutive quarters. Additional benefits include a deferred compensation program, TIAA supplemental retirement savings plan, sick leave, Aflac, space available tuition waiver, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), fitness center, and reduced rate and priority consideration on-site childcare on a space available basis.
