About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance and Repair Professional to join our team at the YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County Inc.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, repairing equipment and structures, and coordinating with other teams to ensure efficient project completion.

This is a part-time position that requires minimal supervision, and the incumbent will be expected to work independently and make sound decisions.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Carries out routine maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of equipment and facilities.
  2. Repairs and replaces equipment and structures as needed to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.
  3. Coordinates with other teams to ensure timely completion of projects and efficient use of resources.
  4. Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, including materials used and time spent on each task.
  5. Identifies and reports potential safety hazards and takes corrective action to prevent accidents.
  6. Communicates effectively with colleagues and management to ensure seamless collaboration and information sharing.
  7. Adheres to established safety protocols and procedures to minimize risk and ensure a safe working environment.
  8. Provides excellent customer service to members and staff by responding promptly to requests and resolving issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Prior maintenance work and experience in the areas of facility maintenance preferable.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas desirable.
  • Good communication skills.
  • CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of employment; and kept active.
  • Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards.
  • Familiarity with personal computers helpful.
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
