Key Responsibilities

Peraton is looking for a Application Software Engineer to become part of our diverse and skilled team. This role involves working within a repair facility dedicated to maintaining essential mail processing and delivery systems. The engineer will be responsible for repairing and maintaining various electronic and mechanical components.

***On-Site Position - No Remote or Hybrid Options Available***

The Application Software Engineer, under general guidance, will develop applications driven by databases in a client/server setup. Responsibilities include gathering requirements and documenting them, as well as conducting problem analysis to determine the most effective design methodologies. Specific duties include:

  • Designing, documenting, and implementing database modifications to meet application needs
  • Utilizing software development tools to design and code application software following Object-Oriented principles
  • Employing various database modeling tools to create and interpret database diagrams that implement sound business logic
  • Engaging with internal teams and external customer representatives at various management levels regarding operations, scheduling, or specific project phases
  • Conducting briefings and participating in technical meetings for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Performing additional related tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with over 5 years of relevant experience, a master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent with 9+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Proficiency in coding with:
  • Visual C++ / C#
  • Windows .Net Framework
  • HTML / CSS / JavaScript / JQuery
  • Demonstrated experience in coding TSQL within a Microsoft SQL Server environment
  • Familiarity with software tools such as:
  • Microsoft Developer Studio 2010 / 2013 / 2015
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 / 2012
  • Microsoft Internet Information Server
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Windows Server 2008 / 2012
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience or training in Lean Six Sigma and ISO 9001

Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily sedentary work, occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force and/or negligible force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
  • Physical activities may include reaching, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
  • Close visual acuity is required for activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures

Salary Range$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
