The Bartender will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive dining experience for residents at Latitude Margaritaville WaterSound. This role requires a strong understanding of house cocktails, specialty drinks, and bar operations, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the bar and serve drinks to residents in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Assist servers with alcohol-related menu questions and provide recommendations.
  • Explain the chef's specialties, identify appropriate wines, and answer food preparation questions.
  • Protect the establishment and residents by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
  • Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties, and menu deviations, and know if the kitchen staff is running out of any items.
  • Transmit orders to the bar and kitchen by recording resident choices, identifying resident special dietary needs, and special requests.
  • Serve orders by picking up and delivering resident choices from the bar and kitchen, deliver accompaniments and condiments from service bars.
  • Respond to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs, observing the dining process.
  • Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
  • Properly open and pour wine at the tableside.
  • Obtain revenues by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payment, and returning credit card and signature slips to residents.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
  • Be willing to fill in for absent staff as needed.
  • Assist with special events as needed.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
  • Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary.

Daily Operations and Customer Experience:

  • Maintain a high level of resident contact throughout service hours.
  • Build strong, effective teams through ongoing supervision, training, coaching, counseling, and leadership.
  • Create an environment that further enlivens the Margaritaville Latitude Lifestyle.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, local, state, and federal safety rules.
  • Maintain a pristine dining area at all times.

Technical Competencies:

Education:

  • High School Graduate or GED preferred.
  • TIPS certified.

Experience:

  • Previous bartending experience required.
  • Excellent oral communication skills required.
  • Positive interpersonal skills required.
  • Strong understanding of Margaritaville brands of liquor/beer.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends.
  • Strong knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits.
  • Communication skills (listening, verbal, and written).
  • Organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Common sense.
  • Team player but can work independently.

Compensation/Work Schedule:

  • $12.00 per hour plus tips.
  • Full-Time (30+ hours weekly).
  • Weekend availability required.
