This 31-bed unit is dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients with oncology and med-surg needs. The team schedules daily short stays for chemotherapy treatment, blood transfusions, bone marrow biopsies, and cardiac catheterization. Additionally, the unit specializes in caring for surgical patients with epidurals and accommodates telemetry patients. The nurse-patient ratio is based on acuity, census, and activity, ensuring personalized attention for each patient.

Scope of Work

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in providing professional nursing care, incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients. The RN partners with patients and families to develop personalized care plans, utilizing the nursing process to deliver high-quality care. The RN also collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Nursing required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required within 5 years.
  • Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed healthcare role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
