About the Unit

This 31-bed unit is dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients with oncology and med-surg needs. Our team schedules daily short stays for chemotherapy treatment, blood transfusions, bone marrow biopsies, and cardiac catheterization. We also specialize in caring for surgical patients with epidurals and can accommodate telemetry patients. Our nurse-patient ratio is based on acuity, census, and activity, ensuring that each patient receives personalized attention.

Scope of Work

The RN, under the ANA scope of practice, utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. Our RNs provide quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader, according to Corewell Health policies and procedures, and recognize the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have an Associate's degree in Nursing, with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing required within 5 years. You must also have a valid MI Registered Nurse (RN) license and AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Primary location is Farmington Hills Hospital, with a variable schedule and every other weekend rotation.
