Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing foodservice supplies, custom printed items, janitorial, equipment, and small wares based on ordering needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchase foodservice supplies, custom printed items, janitorial, equipment, and small wares based on ordering needs.
  • Procure global orders in advance, adhering to supplier container requirements.
  • Manage Network Services buying group functions, including sourcing product and maintaining cost contracts for Corporate Accounts.
  • Track and communicate purchase order ETAs with salesforce.
  • Negotiate pricing and programs with supplier partners to maintain market competitiveness.
  • Support sales on customer product requests and collaborate with suppliers to find solutions.
  • Maintain rebate programs to ensure they are up to date and collect any outstanding rebate dollars every quarter.
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Conduct cost analysis spreadsheets in Excel to compare costs along product lines.
  • Analyze inventory and make stocking changes wherever necessary.
  • Schedule product deliveries inbound and backhauls from vendors.

Requirements

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Clerical skills to include data entry.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing required. Experience in distribution and/or inventory preferred. Knowledge of Prophet 21 and/or other distribution/inventory system a plus.
  • Familiarity with vendor relations and coordination with Sales Reps.
