As a Primary Care Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive primary health care services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide quality, comprehensive inpatient and outpatient primary health care services to patients.
- Report directly to the Medical Director regarding clinical issues and activities related to the delivery of medical care.
- Work collaboratively with the medical team to achieve the center's goals and objectives.
- Obtain health history and perform physical examinations.
- Diagnose and direct counseling for each patient on a plan for treatment.
- Prescribe medication in accordance with state statute and professional practice guidelines.
- Maintain a problem-oriented health record for each patient seen.
- Assure continuity of care by providing comprehensive medical services on a timely basis.
- Provide excellent internal/external customer service to assist patients with their health care needs.
- Perform minor surgical procedures.
- Arrange referrals for patients requiring services not offered at the Medical Center.
- Review incoming reports and follow up in a timely manner.
- Follow established departmental and medical center policies, procedures, and objectives.
- Participate in health promotion, education, and prevention programs as needed.
- Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Regularly required to work standing up, walk, use hands to operate tools and equipment.
- Frequently exert 30 pounds of force and occasionally exert 50 pounds of force.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Master's Degree from accredited Nursing/PA Program.
- Valid State Nurse Practitioner License or PA license.
- Current State D.E.A. Certificate.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a primary care setting.
- Certification by one of the Nurse Practitioner certifying bodies as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) is required.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
- Two years of experience working with a multi-cultural patient population delivering patient-centric programs.
