We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Johns Hopkins Health System. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Radiation Oncology Department.
Job Summary:The Radiation Therapist will be responsible for preparing and applying ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from Radiation Oncologists. This will involve operating various Radiation Oncology-related equipment, accurately delivering prescribed radiation therapy, and maintaining accurate and legible treatment records.
Responsibilities:- Prepares and applies ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from Radiation Oncologists.
- Operates all Radiation Oncology-related equipment, including CT simulators, linear accelerators, QA dosimeters, diode systems, and computer equipment.
- Accurately delivers prescribed radiation therapy according to department protocols.
- Verbal and visual confirmation of patient identification.
- Reviews treatment charts prior to treatments to confirm diagnosis, area, energy, technique, daily dose, total dose, and beam modifiers.
- Provides radiation protection to patients, staff, and self according to prescribed radiation safety standards.
- ARRT certification required.
- BLS certification required.
- Working knowledge of all radiological equipment in the Radiation Oncology Department.
