Job Overview

Steamboat Ski Resort is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Slope Vehicle Shop Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Vehicle Maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance, with experience working with snowcats, heavy equipment, and small engines. Additionally, you will have excellent supervisory skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of mechanics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of shop floor mechanics to ensure timely and efficient completion of maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts inventory and repair orders.
  • Perform regular inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; mechanical training or certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, with a focus on snowcats and small engines.
  • Proven supervisory experience, with a track record of leading high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
