Intermediate Care Registered Nurse

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care for patients undergoing complex medical procedures, including cardiac, liver, and kidney transplantation.
Key Responsibilities- Care for critically ill patients, including those with cardiac and medical conditions, such as post CABG, post heart, liver, or kidney transplantation, post neurosurgery, and VAD patients.
- Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient response.
- Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of critically ill patients.
- Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, and PC skills.
- Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
- Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
