Job Summary

The Progressive and Intermediate Care Registered Nurse is a critical role at HCA Florida Largo Hospital, where we deliver exceptional care to our patients. As a member of our team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to cardiac and medical step-down patients, including those who have undergone CABG, liver, and kidney transplantation.

Responsibilities
  • Care for cardiac and medical step-down patients, including post-CABG, post-heart, liver, or kidney transplantation, post-neurosurgery, and VAD patients.
  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
  • Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
Requirements
  • Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure.
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions.
  • PC skills.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Previous experience in an acute care setting is strongly preferred.
  • Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
