About the Role

This position requires an experienced Mammographer/Radiographer Technologist to provide diagnostic services for patients of all ages undergoing diagnostic radiology and/or mammographic studies in the department of radiology.

  • The ideal candidate will possess the skill to use two or more radiographic equipment to produce quality images for radiological diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care and Safety:

  • Accurately interpret physician instructions and routine procedural protocols.
  • Prepare and operate radiographic and mammographic equipment, associated software, and equipment.
  • Position patients to capture appropriate images.

2. Documenting Patient Information:

  • Document all patient-related information in the radiology information system in a timely manner.

3. Equipment Maintenance:

  • Maintain all aspects of the radiographic and mammographic area, including technical and clerical components.

4. Education and Training:

  • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and safety.

5. Teamwork and Professional Development:

  • Provide coverage as needed and instruct/mentor new hires.
  • Participate in professional affiliation programs and attend periodic in-service programs to continuously learn new technical information and skills.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • An American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registration (RTR) and a Connecticut Radiographer License.
  • Two years of experience in Mammography, CT scan, MR, and radiologic technologist roles.
  • The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
