Position Overview

The Assistant Patient Care Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Patient Care Manager in the clinical oversight and administrative coordination of designated patient care units or services. This position is integral in promoting the unit's objectives and ensuring high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing the operational aspects of assigned units while providing mentorship and leadership to staff.
  • Supervise the delivery of quality, therapeutic, and cost-effective patient care in line with established standards and protocols.
  • Support the Patient Care Manager in administrative functions and assume responsibilities in their absence.
  • Coordinate patient care operations during assigned shifts, acting as a representative of the Patient Care Manager.
  • Facilitate staff orientation, training, and ongoing development, participating in performance evaluations.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient care processes to ensure effective delivery of competent and compassionate care.
  • Communicate organizational policies and expectations to staff, ensuring compliance and performance monitoring.
  • Engage in unit goal planning and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.

Experience: Minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in a related field.

  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of current nursing practices and healthcare regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead process improvement projects.
Licenses and Certifications

Current RN - Registered Nurse license in the relevant state.
