Sign-On Bonus:
Eligible candidates may receive up to $15,000 as a sign-on bonus.
Unit Details:
Wendell 2 - Surgical Short Stay is a 24-bed facility that operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6. This unit specializes in short-stay patients from various fields including Women's Health, Orthopedics/Spine, General Surgery, and Bariatrics. The unit experiences a high turnover rate, making it ideal for those who thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule:
The unit primarily follows a 12-hour shift schedule with weekend rotations. Support staff includes Patient Care Technicians managing 8-12 patients, Unit Coordinators, Resource Nurses, and an experienced Educator with over 20 years in the field.
Orientation and Support:
We offer a robust orientation program where the manager and educator meet with you bi-weekly to ensure you receive optimal learning opportunities. Our leadership team is committed to delivering top-tier patient care.
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program
- BSN or MSN preferred
- Valid Registered Nurse License
- Students nearing completion of an accredited nursing program are encouraged to apply
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire
Role Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assessing and admitting patients
- Conducting rounding checks
- Administering medications
- Communicating with family members
- Overseeing the overall care of your patients
