Job Summary:

University Frames, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Production Assembly Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production department, you will be responsible for assembling a range of raw material frame components, operating various production machines, and shipping orders using FedEx and UPS shipping platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production:
    • Work across multiple areas of production, including assembly and machine operation, with minimal supervision.
    • Build frame assemblies using various raw material mouldings.
    • Operate various production machines, such as mat cutters, wood cutting, foil stamp, and printing equipment.
    • Operate production line equipment, including joining wood machines, glue guns, staple guns, etc.
    • Cut and shape production assembly parts, with the ability to operate computers and run machine programs.
    • Perform quality control checks on work to ensure goods meet internal and customer standards.
  • Shipping:
    • Prepare outgoing shipments and organize the shipping staging area for easy retrieval.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Perform production work cell inventory checks and report shortages or issues.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous manufacturing experience is preferred, but not required if the person has the aptitude to learn quickly.
  • Previous shipping experience with FedEx and UPS platforms is preferred, but not required if the person has the aptitude to learn quickly.
  • Experience working in a production and manufacturing environment is a plus.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • One (1) year of related work experience is preferred, but not required if the person has the aptitude to learn quickly.
  • Previous experience using hand tools and shipping software is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with good manual and eye dexterity.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is desirable.
  • Ability to interpret and comprehend written and verbal instructions and proficient reading level to understand technical instructions used within the production department.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and assignments and meet expected time completion.
  • Ability to remain achievement-focused, engaged, proactive, and positive even in challenging circumstances, own assignments, and be fully accountable for their success.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work independently but proactive to resolve work issues and notify supervisor of support or resources needed.
  • Ability to coordinate with other co-workers as part of a team.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working in a production and manufacturing environment is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

  • Estimated shift times: 1st shift: 7 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Able to lift to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Able to stand for extended periods - 8 hours minimum
