Job Description

Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our team. The purpose of this role is to provide a full range of quality activities in direct support of the company's business and support teams across the enterprise, including responsibility for a Nuclear Quality Assurance program that fulfills the requirements of ASME NQA-1 and NRC regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Quality System Management: Assist in managing the SI quality/business management system, ensuring that the Nuclear Quality Assurance systems are implemented to fulfill ASME NQA-1 and NRC regulatory requirements.
  • Quality Assurance Program Management: Assist in managing the SI quality assurance program, planning, coordinating, and assigning personnel for execution of formal internal and external audits to assure a high level of compliance with the SI quality program, customer requirements, and associated regulatory requirements.
  • Internal Audits and Assurance Activities: Lead internal audits and related assurance activities, managing corrective action programs and facilitating root cause analysis activities.
  • Change and Improvement: Deliver change and improvement, identifying, suggesting, and assisting managers with implementing change and developments to all processes and procedures to meet future business demands and improve current efficiency.
  • Thought Leadership and External Focus: Provide quality lead support/advice to internal and external customers, dealing with complex queries, building relationships, and mentoring/coaching other employees as appropriate.
  • Compliance and Industry Involvement: Manage compliance with applicable regulatory, code, and industry standard requirements, ensuring that corporate regulatory disclosures are completed for quality functions, and participating in industry initiatives/meetings to develop knowledge of quality management as it relates to program trends, NRC concerns, and regulatory and technological developments.
Requirements:
  • Overall Job Knowledge and Performance: In-depth understanding of quality and organizational excellence, program development, root cause analysis, and corrective action program execution.
  • Quality Management and Nuclear Industry Experience: Five (5) years' experience as a quality manager for an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or an engineering organization performing nuclear safety-related design and/or analyses, with demonstrated understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards, and guidelines of 10CFR50 Appendix B, 10CFR21, and NQA-1.
  • Lead Auditor: Currently certified as a Lead Auditor in accordance with ASME NQA-1 or ability to obtain Lead Auditor certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Team Building and Problem Solving: Capable of developing strong interpersonal networks and trust within the organization, setting expectations and requirements, identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner, and gathering and reviewing information appropriately.
  • General Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong technical writing, exceptional organization and time management skills, with ability to manage complex projects and large volumes of work, prioritize and plan work activities, and utilize process improvement skills and tools.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • Travel: 25% travel throughout the US is expected.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • Change Management Experience/Certification: Experience with change management principles and practices, with certification in change management methodologies.
  • Process Mapping, Process Engineering, and Process Automation Experience: Experience with process mapping, process engineering, and process automation, with knowledge of process improvement tools and techniques.
  • Comfortable with Technology and Software: Comfortable with a wide array of technology and software, with experience with automated quality management/corrective actions systems and software, advanced Excel skills, and business intelligence.
  • ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and ISO 17065 Management Systems Experience: Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and ISO 17065 management systems, with knowledge of quality management principles and practices.
  • Minimum Ten (10) Years Expertise as Quality Manager: Minimum ten (10) years' expertise as a quality manager for an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or an engineering organization performing nuclear safety-related design and/or analysis.
  • Familiarity with ASME Code Calculations and ASME Code Design: Familiarity with ASME Code calculations and ASME Code design, especially ASME Section I and Section III.
  • Familiarity with ASNT-SNT-TC-1a Requirements: Familiarity with ASNT-SNT-TC-1a requirements.
