Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The individual in this role will be accountable for the operation and oversight of packaging machinery that transforms bulk materials into finished products, adhering to established protocols and standards. The primary focus will be on packaging tasks within designated workstations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess the quality of incoming bulk materials from suppliers.
  • Adjust the required count or weight for the scale.
  • Input control numbers into the label printer or computer system.
  • Ensure accurate printing of label information.
  • Count finished product units prepared for distribution.
  • Occasionally assist in transferring stock into hoppers to meet production targets.
  • Maintain an organized workspace with necessary supplies such as totes and boxes.
  • Communicate effectively with team leads regarding material shortages or excesses.
  • Engage in LEAN initiatives and process enhancement activities.
  • Participate in general cleanliness and organization of the work area.
  • Assist with periodic inventory checks.
  • Promote the company culture within the department to support the organization's vision and goals.
  • Contribute to special projects and undertake additional responsibilities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing in English.
  • Ability to maintain production standards across all machine workstations for a minimum of two weeks.
  • Clear and legible handwriting.
  • Competence in basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using various units of measure.
  • Capability to frequently lift and carry 50 lb totes.
  • Ability to stand on hard surfaces for extended durations.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in deburring processes.
  • Ability to read blueprints.

Compensation:

$17.25 per hour
