The Registered Nurse Supervisor provides leadership and oversight for a designated shift and unit/area.
This role involves supervising and mentoring nursing staff during the assigned shift. The supervisor assesses staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability, competencies, patient census, and acuity.
Direct patient care is provided as necessary, with the supervisor floating between staff to assist in problem-solving. The effectiveness of patient care is evaluated, including formal assessments, to identify any issues impacting desired patient outcomes.
Complaints regarding patient care and related services are addressed through established channels.
It is essential to ensure that staff have the necessary equipment and supplies to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
This position requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently. A graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing-approved Registered/Professional Nursing program is required if the candidate has less than three years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
Minimum Experience:
1 year of nursing experience.
