Job Title: PCU/Stepdown RN

Aequor Technologies is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Stepdown Unit. As a PCU/Stepdown RN, you will provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients who are stable enough to leave the intensive care unit.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall condition, promptly identifying and addressing any changes in status.
  • Administer medications, including IV drips and infusions, as prescribed by physicians, and perform complex nursing procedures.
  • Assist with the transition of patients from the ICU to the PCU/Stepdown unit, ensuring continuity of care and smooth handoff.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and discharge planning, promoting understanding and compliance.
  • Perform regular assessments and document patient information accurately, maintaining up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide immediate care.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to evaluate patient needs and make informed decisions to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Current RN state license in good standing.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Stepdown Unit, or related critical care nursing field.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.
  • Strong knowledge of critical care nursing practices, telemetry monitoring, and cardiac care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
