About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Tank Farm Operator to join our team at Covanta. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient loading and unloading of trucks and maritime vehicles at our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and unload trucks and maritime vehicles in a safe and efficient manner
  • Sample tanks, trucks, and maritime vehicles to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Perform tank transfers and decants from truck to truck, truck to tank, barge, railcar to truck, etc.
  • Operate boiler to steam tanks and use overflow equipment/devices as needed
  • Perform general plant upkeep, including custodial duties
  • Work in a team environment to ensure safe and efficient operations
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience working on a Tank Farm preferred
  • TWIC preferred or able to obtain
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing operating conditions
  • Physical requirements include ability to climb stairs and/or ladders, pass a Functional Strength Evaluation, and work in a variety of weather conditions
