Position Overview

We are seeking a proficient Windows Server Engineer to provide essential support for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). In this role, your duties will encompass the design, deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Windows server infrastructure within the DISA framework. Collaboration with a team of professionals is crucial to ensure the availability, security, and optimal performance of DISA's Windows server systems. Your expertise will be vital for the seamless operation of critical systems essential for the defense and security of our nation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Windows server infrastructure in accordance with DISA guidelines and best practices.
  • Monitor and manage the performance and availability of Windows server systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to swiftly and effectively resolve server-related issues.
  • Implement and uphold security measures to safeguard sensitive data and comply with DISA security requirements.
  • Conduct routine system audits to identify vulnerabilities and enhance system performance and security.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry standards related to Windows server systems and DISA requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members and end-users, addressing inquiries and resolving technical issues.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure compliance with DISA standards.
Qualifications
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance required.
  • Active CompTIA Security + certification required.
  • 4-6+ years of experience in Windows Server administration/engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience as a Windows Server Engineer, preferably in a DISA or government contracting environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and related technologies.
  • Familiarity with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides and experience implementing security controls.
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies, particularly VMware vSphere.
  • Experience with server deployment and management tools, such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager and PowerShell scripting.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus.
Salary Information

The actual salary will depend on various factors, including experience, location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications. The upper end of the salary range may be allocated to individuals with demonstrated tenure, seniority, and outstanding performance, rewarding factors such as education, certifications, and extensive experience beyond requirements.
