We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Consultant to join our dynamic inpatient consult team at Mass General Brigham. As a member of our team, you will provide expert-level consultation and management recommendations to medical, surgical, and ED providers managing geriatric patients with acute and chronic psychiatric symptoms and disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct evaluations and examinations of medical, surgical, and ED patients with co-morbid mental health issues.
- Engage in independent decision-making and recommendations on clinical care, including diagnostic impressions, treatment plans, and medication recommendations.
- Collaborate with primary and multi-specialty providers as appropriate.
- Provide direct psychiatric care, utilizing brief psychotherapeutic interventions, including motivational interviewing and supportive therapy.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- 3 years of Psychiatry experience (as an RN or NP) preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
