Maintenance Technician Lansing Based

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and functionality of residential and commercial properties owned by Communities First, Inc. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general maintenance, repair of buildings, facilities, equipment, and grounds.
- Ensure that buildings and equipment are maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly condition in accordance with all applicable regulations.
- Maintain maintenance inventory records and files.
- Prepare reports; monitor and prioritize maintenance schedules to assure tasks are performed in a timely manner.
- Clean and repair structures such as floors, toilets, sinks, walls, roofs, stairways, and carpets.
- Contacts appropriate outside agencies as needed to schedule service/inspections by trained personnel.
- Obtains required permits as appropriate.
- Arranges for disposal of hazardous waste and chemicals.
- Coordinates several projects simultaneously.
- Forecasts issues and plans accordingly--preventative maintenance.
- Adheres to safety practices and procedures.
- Develops and maintains effective working relationships with other staff and vendors.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
- Possess a valid Drivers License
- Ability to lead the work of others

- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products, emails, group messaging, data collection, internet and other database and spreadsheet programs.
