Job Summary

The Director of Appraisal Services is responsible for overseeing the Appraisal and Environmental Services Department, ensuring that collateral valuations and environmental assessments meet regulatory and legal requirements. This role plays a critical part in the bank's real estate lending activities, providing accurate and reliable information to support credit underwriting and lending processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement real estate appraisal policies and procedures in line with regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage the ordering, performance, and review of appraisals, evaluations, and environmental due diligence services.
  • Administer the list of approved appraisers, third-party review providers, and environmental service providers.
  • Lead and motivate a team of appraisal specialists, underwriters, and loan officers to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on complex appraisal and environmental issues.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with credit administration, loan officers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with company goals and vision.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in appraisal and environmental services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as real estate, business, or a related field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of appraisal regulatory requirements, including FIRREA, USPAP, and Interagency Appraisal and Evaluation Guidelines.
  • Experience in appraisal services, compliance, and management, with a strong understanding of commercial and residential real estate lending.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in business computer applications, including Microsoft Office products.
