Job Title: Software Engineering Director

Join Walmart's Enterprise People Technology team as a Software Engineering Director, where you will lead the development of transformative products and services that impact millions of associates globally.

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned software engineering leader to drive the modernization of our applications, build strong relationships with business stakeholders, and provide technical guidance to integration teams. As a Director of Software Engineering, you will be responsible for:

  • Influencing and coaching multiple integration teams to deliver high-quality products and services.
  • Building strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver solutions that meet their expectations.
  • Providing technical guidance to integration teams on architectural patterns, scalability, and disaster recovery.
  • Driving automation and CICD stage gates to improve operational excellence.
  • Developing close partnerships with Product, People API, and Workday teams to drive innovation and deliver on commitments to business customers.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Deep working knowledge of cloud native distributed system development, preferably on Azure, GCP, or WCNP.
  • Technical proficiency in one or more languages such as Java, Python, React Native, Node JS, React JS, or GraphQL.
  • Experience working on compensation or total rewards platforms and microservices architecture.
  • Experience in DevOps, Chaos Engineering, SRE, and on-call rotations to assure service availability and operational excellence.
  • Leadership experience in managing software development engineers, leaders, architects, and guiding engineering teams on engineering excellence and solid system design.
