About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our warehouse team at Dollar Tree. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and troubleshooting of conveyors, building equipment, machinery, and electrical/control systems in our Distribution Center.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure a Safe Working Environment: Follow established safety procedures and guidelines to maximize personal safety and the safety of DC associates.
  2. Perform Equipment Maintenance: Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment, including lift trucks, pneumatic systems, material handling equipment, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, electronic, and electrical equipment, according to procedures.
  3. Troubleshoot Complex Electrical/Electronic Problems: Diagnose and repair complex electrical/electronic problems with equipment, networks, logic controls, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Motor Drives (Servo and VFD), and external Input/Output (I/O) devices where the repair is not immediately visible or obvious.
  4. Assist Team Members: Assist other maintenance technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment.
  5. Implement Efficiency Improvements: Initiate and implement new procedures and create designs to keep present equipment/systems operating at 100% efficiency.
  6. Develop Knowledge Base: Develop knowledge of different systems within the Distribution Center.
  7. Maintain a Safe and Organized Work Area: Maintain an organized work area and promote a safe working environment with the Maintenance department.
  8. Communicate Effectively: Communicate with individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing to minimize downtime of equipment.
  9. Complete Work Orders and Records: Complete work orders, records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures.
  10. Operate Material Handling Equipment: Operate material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipment.
  11. Ensure High-Quality Workmanship: Ensure workmanship is of the highest quality.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Coursework or certification in electronic technology and 2 years of industrial maintenance experience specializing in electronic technology (including troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment) OR 3 years of industrial maintenance experience specializing in electronic technology (including troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment).
  • PLC/PC Program Knowledge: PLC/PC program knowledge and troubleshooting experience.
  • Industrial Electrical Experience: Industrial electrical hands-on experience and troubleshooting, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24 VDC systems.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting Skills: Advanced troubleshooting skills with PCs and industrial controls devices/networking.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, relating technical issues to business leadership.
  • Shift Work and Overtime: Team Member will perform shift work and must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Customer service-oriented.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree and Industrial Maintenance Experience: Both Associate's Degree in electronic technology and 2 years of industrial maintenance experience specializing in electronic technology (including troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment).
