**Job Title:** Kennel Technician Part Time
**Location:** Central Point, Oregon or Falmouth, MA
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team at Dogs for Better Lives. As a Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and attention to our purpose-bred dogs.
Estimated Salary: $35,000 - $40,000 per year
The successful candidate will have a strong passion for animal welfare and excellent communication skills. If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is committed to delivering high-quality care, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Providing general daily kennel care, including scooping, cleaning, laundry, and feeding
- Providing general daily dog and cat care, including feeding, watering, grooming, playing, and exercising
- Providing service dog education and development
- Maintaining accurate medical and behavior records
- Coordinating medical appointments and ensuring that all counters are clean and free of clutter
- Ensuring that all floors are swept in kennel areas, vet and bathing rooms, office areas, apartments, and laundry room
- Performing other duties as required by the organization and breeding coordinators
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED certificate required
- Must pass a criminal background and DMV check
- Ability to meet and greet the public in a friendly and courteous manner
- Successfully able to lead self and others through a process and adhere to timelines
- Shares in the passion for the mission of Dogs for Better Lives
- Self-starter and independent with limited supervision yet works collaboratively
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
- Highly skilled in interpersonal and written communication
- Respects and maintains privileged confidential information
- Values continuous learning and seeks ongoing training and development
