Job Title: Endoscopy Technician at Saint Anne's Hospital

Position Overview: In collaboration with the nursing staff, the endoscopy technician plays a vital role in patient care within the endoscopy department. This position involves assisting medical professionals during procedures and ensuring the proper functioning of endoscopy instruments. Additional duties include managing inventory and optimizing the workflow of the endoscopy unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Exhibits professionalism and compassion towards all patients, families, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Assists healthcare providers during endoscopic examinations.
  • Conducts thorough cleaning and high-level disinfection of endoscopic tools.
  • Processes surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintains and updates Instructions for Use (IFU) for endoscopy devices.
  • Manages specimens, documentation, and sterilization records.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Capability to assist physicians in endoscopic interventions.
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques, infection prevention, and equipment management.
  • Familiarity with Spaulding Classification, Universal Protocol, and ASGE Guidelines.
  • Ability to prioritize equipment requirements and operate efficiently in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; graduation from a surgical technologist program is preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years in a relevant role.
  • Certification/Licensure: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Meditech software.
