Department: Anesthesiology
Position Overview:The CRNA is responsible for executing clinical anesthesia responsibilities and ensuring optimal patient care during procedures. This role involves making critical anesthetic decisions, administering anesthetic agents in accordance with established protocols, and effectively communicating patient conditions to the healthcare team. The CRNA also plays a key role in coordinating staff coverage and managing assignments within the surgical environment.
This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the growth and developmental stages across the lifespan. The ability to evaluate patient data and interpret information in relation to age-specific needs is essential. The CRNA will exhibit leadership through participation in committees, educational initiatives, and research, while actively pursuing enhancements in nursing practices through performance improvement efforts.
Experience Requirements: A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a CRNA is necessary for this role.
Educational Background:Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing and nurse anesthesia program.
Licensure and Certification:This casual CRNA position requires work at Essentia Health facilities. Candidates must:
- Demonstrate independence and proficiency in performing nerve blocks and spinal anesthesia.
- Be capable of working in various settings including OR, Endoscopy, and Emergency Departments for intubation and peripheral access.
- Be available for 1-2 days per week initially, with ongoing needs of 1-2 days per month.
- Have no on-call or weekend obligations.
- Possess a valid license in the state of practice.
- Be certified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) and have graduated from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, with the expectation to pass the certification exam within one year of graduation.
- Maintain current certification as per NBCRNA standards.
- Hold Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Obtain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
