Role Overview: This position plays a crucial role in the success of the FX Sales desk in the United States, ensuring that specific individual objectives, plans, and initiatives are executed in alignment with the team's strategic goals. It is essential that all activities adhere to governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a customer-centric culture by enhancing client relationships and leveraging broader bank resources, systems, and knowledge.
  • Identify and cultivate business opportunities with clients, promoting cross-selling across various areas and product lines.
  • Drive client expansion by acquiring new customers and enhancing our presence with existing clients.
  • Assess and analyze the hedging requirements of corporate and institutional clients, focusing on their fundamental risk management priorities and product needs.
  • Lead client engagement for a portfolio of accounts, promoting collaboration across the entire Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities (FICC) product suite.
  • Generate insightful market analysis and trade ideas, while establishing connections between our client base and the trading desk.
  • Oversee daily operations in accordance with the bank's risk culture and relevant risk appetite statements and limits.
  • Encourage an environment where the team pursues effective and efficient operations in line with Scotiabank's values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, ensuring compliance with operational, regulatory, and conduct risk obligations.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of FX business procedures and processes.
  • Promote a high-performance culture and contribute to an inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree required, preferably in a related field such as Finance, Economics, or Business.
  • Strong product knowledge and understanding of financial markets.
  • Exceptional customer relationship management skills.
  • Familiarity with the FX Global Code and relevant policies for the markets in which we operate.
