Job Summary:

As a Pharmacy Technician with KPH Healthcare Services, Inc., you will play a vital role in preparing medications with sterile compounding, maintaining the compounding area and equipment, and monitoring inventory. This position requires strong communication skills, excellent organization skills, and outstanding customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

Assist pharmacists in maintaining federal, state, and local laws, accrediting body standards, and Policies and Procedures (P&Ps).

Perform IV admixtures sterility testing in accordance with policy, maintaining appropriate documentation.

Assist pharmacists in the preparation and labeling of medications as allowed by law.

Prepare sterile parenterals following appropriate aseptic technique and obtaining required checks by pharmacists and

Appropriate assembly of drugs and supplies by matching codes and quantities from the compounding document,

Correct labeling of product,

Checking the final product for the absence of particulate matter and container integrity and

Ensuring compounded product gets matched to the right delivery just prior to shipping.

Conduct quality control and sterility testing.

Assist pharmacists in maintaining appropriate inventory levels.

Orders, receives, and stores medications and supplies.

Performs physical inventories according to (P&Ps).

Maintains pharmacy records including filing and documenting required information on dispensing records.

Maintains and tracks DME and other equipment including cleaning and calibration activities.

Cleans work areas routinely in accordance with policies and procedures.

Communicates appropriately with all members of the healthcare team.

Documents appropriately according to AristaCare P&Ps, all activities using required paperwork (logs).

Participates in Performance Improvement and Quality Assurance activities education programs and department/branch meetings.

Serves as Process Owner as assigned.

Responsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programs

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum: High School Diploma or GED

Preferred: Pharmacy Technician or related certification

Experience: One year of IV compounding experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

Credential/Licensure Required: Some states require a pharmacy technician certificate or license. Under no circumstances may a pharmacy technician mix medications or provide service without a licensed pharmacist present.

Current CPR certification required if involved with direct patient care.

Job Skill Requirements: Strong communication skills, excellent organization skills, outstanding customer service skills, general knowledge of medications and physician orders, ability to multi-task and prioritize, successful completion of a pre-employment and/or random drug screening test
