Job Title: Thermoforming Machine Changeover Specialist

Sabert is seeking a skilled Thermoforming Machine Changeover Specialist to join our production team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing changeovers, maintaining tooling, and ensuring the highest quality of parts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform all Thermoforming Machine Changeovers with regard to Thermoformer, Cutting Stations, and tooling.
  • Minimize downtime by setting up machines efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve changeover efficiency and reduce downtime.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Tooling Maintenance:
    • Inspect and organize all tooling prior to installation and after removal to ensure all pieces are in good working condition.
    • Report any tooling performance issues to ensure continued good performance.
    • Ensure all tools are repaired prior to installation.
  • Safety and Housekeeping:
    • Ensure safety switches and guards are always in place and working.
    • Follow approved lock-out procedures at all times.
    • Keep all thermoforming areas used for changeovers neat and organized.
    • Report any unsafe conditions to the Supervisor immediately.
  • Training and Development:
    • Train operators in basic safety and operating procedures.
  • Quality:
    • Ensure the quality of parts coming off the line as it relates to the proper set-up of forming and trimming equipment.
  • Thermoforming Machine and Trim Presses:
    • Coordinate with production manager, supervisor, or maintenance manager any repairs, preventative maintenance, or improvements needed on equipment.
  • Maintenance Department:
    • Assist the maintenance department in any activity needed during production.
    • Assist the Production Manager in any tasks required at the time.
Requirements:
  • 3 years of experience in thermoforming, machine maintenance, and plastics.
  • High school diploma or equivalent trade school diploma.
  • Good general mechanical skills.
  • Clean and organized work habits.
  • In-depth and detailed knowledge of Thermoforming, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical processes.
  • Some knowledge of electrical controllers and circuits.
  • Analytically oriented to troubleshoot and establish root cause.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
