Job Title: Veterinarian

USVTA is seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinarian to join our team at the Rochester Community Animal Clinic (RCAC). As a high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter and vaccine clinic, we serve Rochester, New York's low-income community and numerous pet rescue and adoption organizations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform an average of 15-20 dog and cat spay/neuter surgeries per shift, utilizing your skills and expertise to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Oversee pre-, peri-, and post-operative patient care, anaesthetic protocols, patient monitoring, and emergency response, demonstrating your ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide basic education and wellness care, including vaccines, routine testing, and parasite prevention, to animals owned by low-income clients and rescue organizations, showcasing your commitment to community animal health.
  • Assess individual patient issues and provide sensible, low-cost, compassionate solutions, utilizing your expertise to make a positive impact on the lives of our clients and their pets.
  • Lead the team with caring, clear, and confident guidance and support, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Communicate openly with the medical director, addressing patient concerns and staff needs, and offering positive suggestions for improving speed, efficiency, and quality of care.
  • Work with our large and active feral cat (TNVR) community, demonstrating your ability to adapt to new and challenging situations.
