Position Overview

The Bartender plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional service that aligns with the overall objectives of the hotel. This position involves managing the bar area during evening events, ensuring a high standard of quality and guest interaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exemplify Sonesta Service in all guest interactions, adhering to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
  • Prepare and transport food and beverage items, along with necessary supplies to and from the bar area.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of bar items, food, and beverages, ensuring everything is replenished as needed.
  • Follow established preparation methods and presentation standards, monitoring taste, appearance, and serving temperatures.
  • Welcome guests proactively and respond to their requests in a timely and professional manner, escalating serious issues to management when necessary.
  • Ensure the security and proper storage of food and beverage products, minimizing waste.
  • Keep work and bar areas clean and organized, including all equipment and surfaces.
  • Check equipment functionality and report any maintenance needs or safety hazards to supervisors.
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down meeting rooms, providing food and beverage service during events.
  • Comply with all health, sanitation, and safety standards as per local regulations and hotel policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in food and beverage service is preferred.
  • Experience in the extended stay industry is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills are preferred.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move throughout the facility.
  • Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Familiarity with commercial cleaning chemicals is necessary.
  • ServSafe certification is required.
  • TIPS certification may be required.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.61 per hour. Actual pay may vary based on experience and qualifications.
