Job Title: Overnight Detox LPN Specialist

Job Summary:

Hotel California by the Sea is seeking a skilled and compassionate Overnight Detox LPN Specialist to join our treatment team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals struggling with substance use disorders and mental health conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Document all nursing care provided and the patient's condition/status, including initial nursing screening, nurse progress notes, client health questionnaire, suicide risk screening, nutritional risk screening, TB screenings, and other documentation in our electronic medical record system (KIPU) in a timely manner.
  • Observe, screen/assess, and document patient vital signs and withdrawal management screenings (CIWA/COWS) within your scope of practice.
  • Document, monitor, secure, and account for all patient medications in the healthcare office.
  • Document and observe each patient's self-administration of medications.
  • Monitor patients' reactions and respond to potential adverse events or reactions.
  • Monitor, document, and complete patient observation rounds.
  • Closely monitor, identify, and report patients who may be experiencing thoughts of self-harm, harm to others, and/or suicidal ideations/behaviors.
  • Perform nursing tasks in accordance with the physician's instructions/protocols.
  • Provide education and instructions to patients as applicable.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to promote, facilitate, and achieve desired treatment outcomes for patients.
  • Communicate effectively with the full team (supervisor, coworkers, physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, and case managers).
  • Comply with all state and company policies and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to care for patients with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and physical health problems or conditions.
  • 1 year of experience working in a detox setting (preferred).
  • Familiarity with basic detox protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to build rapport with patients.
  • Strong de-escalation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to serving patients struggling with chemical dependency.

Education and Certifications:

  • Current Adult CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Current LPN License in the state of OH.
