Clinical Applications Analyst

The Clinical Applications Analyst I serves as a vital team member dedicated to delivering application configuration support aimed at enhancing operational efficiencies, ensuring patient safety, and addressing departmental workflow requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Engages in needs assessment, software design, implementation, support, and reporting activities.
- Collaborates with clinical subject matter experts to gather data that informs design improvements for clinical workflows.
- Assists in crafting clinical workflows alongside clinicians, focusing on efficiency enhancements and quality initiatives.
- Participates in change management efforts to facilitate successful system deployments and upgrades.
- Contributes to unit and integrated testing of software to verify that design objectives are achieved.
- Supports the creation of end-user training materials and aids in training initiatives.
- Works with team members to uphold high documentation standards.
- Provides insights for escalating issues to the appropriate internal resources.
- Collaborates with clinicians and team members to develop policies and procedures in conjunction with the IT Application manager.
- Assists in the creation and upkeep of system documentation.
- Diagnoses issues with vendor support until resolution is achieved.
- Provides support and troubleshooting for Hospital Information Systems interfaces as needed.
- Generates reports as required and addresses problem tickets.
- Collaborates with other application analysts to ensure system integrations are seamless.
- Implements and maintains relevant change control procedures and standards.
- Prepares detailed flowcharts and diagrams to aid in design decisions and problem-solving.
- Handles on-call responsibilities as necessary.
- Undertakes other assigned tasks as required.
- Adheres to all organizational policies and standards.
- For specific responsibilities, refer to documentation provided during orientation.
- Must comply with all regulations to securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients, including annual training and adherence to the organization's Code of Conduct and policies.
- High School Diploma or GED (Required) and
- Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with clinical applications such as:
• Laboratory systems
• Radiology systems
• PACs
• Pharmacy systems
• Clinical management systems
• Perioperative systems
• Emergency Department systems
• Ambulatory EMR systems
• Document Management systems (Required) and - Experience in clinical settings and workflow redesign (Preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Required proficiency).
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment (Required proficiency).
- Understanding of JCAHO and HIPAA requirements (Required proficiency).
- Proficient in MS Office (Required proficiency).
- Familiarity with change control procedures and standards (Preferred proficiency).
- Knowledge of MS Visio and Project (Preferred proficiency).
- Understanding of LAN, DNS, and networking (Preferred proficiency).
- Ability to work with servers and implement software upgrades (Preferred proficiency).
- Knowledge of disaster recovery and backup procedures (Preferred proficiency).
- Occasional standing and walking.
- Constant sitting.
- Rarely lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs.
- Frequent repetitive motions and coordination.
- Up to 10% travel may be required.
