Job Title Verification, Validation and Uncertainty Quantification

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. The successful candidate will be part of a large interdisciplinary team working on a newly funded project, assessing effects of uncertainties in model parameters on predictions from hydrodynamic simulation codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement numerical models for uncertainty quantification in hydrodynamic simulation codes
  • Collaborate with a large interdisciplinary team to assess effects of uncertainties in model parameters
  • Conduct research and analysis to improve the accuracy and reliability of simulation codes
  • Communicate research results to the team and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • PhD in mathematics, physics, materials science, chemistry, engineering, statistics or a closely related discipline
  • Experience with numerical modeling and simulation codes
  • Strong programming skills in Fortran, C++, Python or Matlab
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate research results effectively
