Job Summary:

The Salvation Army Central Territory is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Store Sales Associate to join our team. As a Store Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and handling cash transactions accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to our shoppers and donors, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized store environment, including the cash register area and sales floor.
  • Accurately manage personal cash drawer, opening, closing, and balancing, adhering to Salvation Army money handling procedures.
  • Work to understand the Point of Sales system and complete sales effectively and efficiently, with proficiency obtained within 3 months of employment.
  • Perform tasks such as cleaning, straightening, hanging, and restocking merchandise as needed.
  • Maintain a friendly demeanor, greeting customers and offering assistance when needed.
  • Follow all Salvation Army policies regarding the sale of merchandise.
  • Keep the sales floor stocked and put new merchandise out, working to meet production goals for the store each day as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or currently pursuing.
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with customers, management, and coworkers.
  • Basic computer skills, including the use of the Point of Sales System, payroll program, and other programs adopted by The Salvation Army ARC.
  • Ability to give change accurately.

Working Conditions:

The work environment for this position is a store environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. The environment may be dusty and may experience temperature fluctuations based on weather. The employee is routinely exposed to outdoor weather. Full-Time or Part-Time position; will require weekend and evening hours.
