- Project Leadership: Direct and coordinate cross-functional teams to strategize, implement, and evaluate projects aimed at enhancing the distribution center's operations, including process reengineering, layout modifications, and system integrations.
- Budget Oversight: Formulate and manage financial plans for capital projects focused on process enhancements and automation. Ensure that projects are completed within budgetary limits and demonstrate a clear return on investment.
- Lean Methodology Implementation: Spearhead and engage in continuous improvement projects by applying lean principles to optimize processes, minimize waste, and boost overall efficiency.
- Team Development: Guide and mentor a team of industrial engineers and interns, offering support and direction in the planning and execution of projects.
- Engineered Labor Standards: Supervise the creation and upkeep of engineered labor standards for various tasks within the distribution center to maximize workforce productivity and performance.
- Labor Management Systems: Implement and manage labor management systems to monitor and enhance labor performance, scheduling, and cost control.
- Data-Driven Insights: Leverage data analytics to pinpoint areas for improvement, monitor performance metrics, and deliver actionable insights for operational advancements.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline; Master's degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in lean process improvement and project management within a distribution center context.
- Strong financial insight with experience in capital budget management.
- Leadership experience, including overseeing a team of engineers.
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineered labor standards and labor management systems.
- Exceptional data analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and data analytics tools.
- Experience in retail distribution is a plus.
- Collaborative Approach: Work with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, and IT, to ensure alignment and effective execution of improvement initiatives.
- Compliance: Ensure that all engineering solutions and projects comply with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
- Willingness to travel up to 30%.
