Job Title: Custodian Part Time RRHP SPA 3

VOALA is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our clients and staff.

Job Summary:

The Custodian will perform daily janitorial duties, including cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking bathrooms, as well as performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks. You will work closely with our facilities team to ensure that our facilities are well-maintained and meet the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the interior and exterior of the facility, including building, parking lot, and grounds, in good condition
  • Perform daily cleaning of assigned areas using various cleaning products
  • Restock bathrooms and maintain cleanliness and order of store rooms
  • Perform or assist in minor repairs, including carpentry, plumbing, interior painting, and landscape and irrigation systems
  • Follow daily checklist provided by supervisor and maintain cleanliness and order of store rooms
  • Check facility daily for any safety concerns and report all deficiencies to management
  • Prepare and set-up rooms for meetings, classes, and events
Requirements:
  • Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment, and education verifications
  • Experience cleaning high foot traffic areas and bathrooms, or similar building maintenance experience
  • Ability to understand how to safely work with caustic chemicals and cleaning materials
  • Ability to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflict, including dealing with un-cooperative clients
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma (or GED/High School Equivalence Certificate)
  • Custodial or building maintenance experience in a shelter or a school setting preferred
  • Ability to read and write instructions in English preferred
  • Background in construction trades a plus
  • Proven familiarity with homelessness and related issues a plus
