Northrop Grumman is seeking a skilled Linux Systems Administrator to become an integral part of our dynamic and diverse technical team. This role is essential for ensuring the operational integrity of our multi-user computer systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer Linux systems for classified government projects, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Collaborate with network engineers, software developers, and IT management to maintain seamless system operations.
- Implement backup and recovery solutions, manage disk space, and ensure robust virus protection.
- Create and oversee user accounts, adjusting permissions and security settings as necessary.
- Evaluate new software releases for compatibility and user impact, ensuring smooth transitions.
- Document technical processes and develop procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Engage with vendors to troubleshoot issues and assess product offerings.
- Adhere to stringent information security protocols, maintaining audit logs and security documentation.
- Provide regular project status updates for ongoing and completed tasks.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, developing innovative solutions to complex challenges.
Basic Qualifications:
- For Level 2: Associate's degree with 4 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience; or a High School diploma with 6 years of experience.
- For Level 3: Associate's degree with 7 years of experience; or Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience; or a High School diploma with 9 years of experience.
- Must possess a current DOD Security Clearance (Secret, Top Secret, or Top Secret/SCI).
- Experience with Linux operating systems is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possession of Security+CE or similar DoD 8570 certification may be required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
- Experience in Linux domain architecture is advantageous.
