This position is for Pactiv Evergreen Inc.

Job Description:

The role is focused on ensuring the reliability and availability of all automation, control systems, and IT equipment throughout the facility. The technician will provide both electrical and mechanical support in the development, analysis, and maintenance of processes, equipment, and products.

Collaboration with plant personnel is essential to conduct tests, diagnostics, repairs, and enhancements to machinery and equipment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Foster a culture of zero EHS incidents, actively participating in investigations to identify root causes and preventive measures.
  • Engage in Tier Meetings and utilize the Pactiv Business System (PBS) to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor, calibrate, and repair manufacturing equipment and instruments.
  • Conduct thorough troubleshooting of PLC, HMI, and motor drive systems, providing effective solutions.
  • Execute electrical and electronic installations and modifications.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of electrical circuitry, electronics, and electromechanical concepts.
  • Apply knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
  • Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
  • Modify PLC ladder diagrams as needed.
  • Stay updated on the latest automation and control technologies.
  • Utilize problem-solving techniques to address operational challenges and enhance efficiency.
  • Provide technical support to improve Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
  • Coordinate with corporate personnel to resolve IT-related issues.
  • Develop and revise operational procedures.
  • Manage departmental budgets and explain variances as necessary.
  • Deliver training to personnel at all levels.
  • Supervise contractors to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of technical procedures and equipment changes.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Be flexible with work hours, including weekends and holidays, and be available for on-call duties.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent training is necessary.
  • An Associate's Degree in Maintenance or Industrial Technology is preferred.
  • A minimum of ten years of industrial maintenance experience with a focus on automation and controls.
  • Working knowledge of Information Technology (IT), including networking and computer systems.
  • Strong safety, attendance, and work record are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, Outlook, and SAP.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and logical problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts effectively.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to make timely decisions under pressure.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Must possess or be able to acquire the necessary tools for the position.
