Job Summary

The County of Humboldt is seeking a highly skilled Auditor-Controller Payroll Specialist I/II to join our team. As a key member of our payroll division, you will be responsible for processing biweekly payroll for over 2000 county employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Processing: Process biweekly payroll for county employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Payroll Audit Projects: Conduct payroll audits to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Assisting Accounting Staff: Provide support to accounting staff with payroll-related tasks.
  • Payroll and Benefits Administration: Administer payroll and benefits for county employees, including processing deductions, benefits, and other payroll-related tasks.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, including tax code and labor law.
  • Experience with automated payroll systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm, with an hour lunch. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
