Position Overview:

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be engaged in providing exceptional care within the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, working three 12-hour shifts weekly from 7pm to 7:30am, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Unit Details:

The Cardiac ICU consists of a 32-bed facility, with 16 dedicated to intensive care and 16 for intermediate care. Nurses will be assigned to either the ICU or intermediate side, focusing on post-operative cardiac surgeries and various cardiac conditions, including cardiac arrests and myocardial infarctions. The intermediate section accommodates pre and post-cardiac patients, along with other cardiac procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations for a designated group of patients, employing evidence-based practices.
  • Assist healthcare providers during patient assessments, examinations, and treatments, while performing basic medical procedures under supervision.
  • Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers, adhering to established standards and protocols.
  • Provide education and clear explanations of procedures to patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Assume accountability for care delivered by both licensed and unlicensed staff as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Proven ability to organize and manage patient care effectively, including delegation and supervision of team members.
  • Basic computer proficiency; experience with electronic medical records preferred.
